Tucson Photography Workshop
As a change from many recent photography trips to Alaska with Ron Niebrugge, I ventured south to join him in his Arizona Photography Workshop in Tucson, Arizona, April10-16, 2019. Ron and Janine have created a wonderful oasis called Desert Photo Retreat where they live when not at home in Alaska. Here Ron has built a number of blinds that make it possible to photograph wild birds and mammals.
My roommate was my good friend Lynne Veach, whom I met when we roomed together at Silver Salmon Creek last year. Also joining us was Lynn Bowers. We stayed at the wonderful White Stallion Ranch, where we photographed all sorts of ranch activities, including a rodeo, roundups, wranglers at work, and beautiful scenery.
In addition to making many visits to photograph at Desert Photo Retreat, we visited the superb Sonoran Desert Museum, the historic Mission San Xavier del Bac, and Colossal Cavern. What a variety of subject matter and so much fun!
While looking at the mosaic grid of a gallery, tap lightly on a photo to see its caption. To see each photo individually, click on the first photo to open it and use arrows to move forward and backward through photos. To see any photo at full size and higher quality, click on “View full size” on the bottom right of the screen and open that photo in your browser where you can save it to your computer. Photos and video were taken on a Fuji X-T3.
Here are a few more shots to show our beautiful setting at the Niebrugge’s Desert Photo Retreat and White Stallion Ranch. As a result of all the winter rains, the desert was gorgeous with cactuses coming into bloom. The green barked and yellow blossomed palo verde trees were beautiful, as was the brittlebush and red-blossomed ocotillo.
